The Netherlands Ministry of Defence
Bell ID® Identity Token Manager offers the Ministry of Defence a unique solution for the management of the complete lifecycle of the newly issued military ID cards with their corresponding applications. The following operational processes are supported by the Smart Card Management System: access control, identification, payment at canteens and Army-shop quota management for tax free items. This project was the first multi-functional ID card of a defence organization worldwide and still draws international attention.
Over 200,000 employee and visitor cards were issued within the Ministry. After the Royal Netherlands Army, the Royal Dutch Air Force and the Defence Telematics Organization (DTO), the new ID document will be introduced gradually in all of the other Defence organizations (Royal Netherlands Navy, Royal Military police and the Ministry department).
