Boeing Corporation launched a multi-application smart ID card scheme, involving the roll-out of over 200,000 cards to staff globally. Boeing selected Bell ID’s ANDiS© Management Systems as the software platform for life-cycle management of the cards and the supported applications. The ID cards, printed with the cardholders’ photographs and personal data, are used for secure log-on to the company network, e-mail signing and encryption, access control, and electronic purse. The new scheme builds on Boeing’s existing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).
