BearingPoint and Gemalto are implementing Bell ID’s ANDiS Card, Application and Key Management System, providing a ‘FIPS-compliant shared service’ issuing system under the direction of General Services Administration (GSA). The GSA contract, which was awarded to BearingPoint, includes Gemalto’s SafesITe Government solution, which uses ANDiS as the Card Management System. ANDiS^© will be used to enable the centralised management of FIPS 201-compliant smart ID cards the employees of several government agencies, nationwide. Some 1,500,000 employees are estimated to participate in this cost-effective CAMS service.
